Things to Do in San Diego *
Welcome to the city we call home. Here’s a few recommendations!
LUGARES
Walk the strand from Mission to Pacific Beach.
See the seals at La Jolla Cove.
Walk along Sunset Cliffs and check out Ocean Beach on the way back, known for its bohemian, laid-back vibe.
See a panorama view of San Diego at Mount Soledad.
Visit one of best zoos in the world, The San Diego Zoo.
Rent bikes and cruise around the famous town of Coronado (stop for a cocktail at The Sun Deck at the iconic Hotel Del Coronado while there).
Catch a Padres Game at Petco Park in the middle of downtown San Diego.
Hike to the beach at Torrey Pines State Beach.
Take a surf lesson with Lorenzo, Kaylee’s surf instructor (text him at 7604684029).
Head to North County to bop around the shops, breweries, and restaurants in Encinitas, where Kaylee & Emerson currently reside.
Go to the beach, any beach! Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach are nearest to the hotel block. Kaylee loves Windansea for the sunset, Emerson loves Solana Beach for a beach day.
COMIDA
Tacos, tacos, and more tacos!
The Taco Stand - A San Diego classic with multiple locations.
Oscar’s Mexican Seafood - Best for seafood tacos.
Tacos Los Chuchys - A favorite for Al Pastor.
Tacos El Gordo - Tijuana-style street tacos.
Not tacos:
Kettner Exchange - A creative spot downtown for cocktails and food.
Mitch’s Seafood - Locally caught, served same day!
Blue Water Seafood - Locally caught and prepared how you choose. A few locations, but we recommend the Ocean Beach location.
Pomegranate - Georgian & Russian restaurant in a homey setting.
Rocky’s - Burgers, beers and not much else! A local spot, wonderful in it’s simplicity.
Liberty Station - Multiple food vendors in one place.
Olive Cafe - A breakfast & lunch spot owned by a woman from Kaylee’s hometown, Warwick, NY.
World Famous - A seafood spot by the beach.
Sushi Ota - A really good sushi spot.
Leilani’s Cafe - A Hawaiian food place open for breakfast & lunch.
Java Earth - A local coffee spot with good pastries.
BEBIDAS
Wonderland Ocean Pub - Grab a drink and watch the sun set over the Ocean Beach pier.
The Sun Deck at Hotel Del Coronado - The perfect place to grab a fancy cocktail and feel like you’re on vacation.
False Idol - A tiki bar located within a restaurant.
PB Shore Club - A no frills bar with a great deck right on the ocean. Beware, this is a popular post-grad spot for the 25-and-under crowd, we (Kaylee) recommend stopping by earlier in the day.
Lahaina Beach House - Drink a beer as close to the sand as you possibly can. Cash only!
Beer & More Beer: San Diego is home to many breweries known locally and nationally.
Stone Brewery - A San Diego-based brewery, popular nationally.
Eppig Brewing Co. - A waterfront spot close to the hotel block.
Ballast Point - Watch the planes land at the airport at the tasting room downtown.
Harland Brewing Co. - Order a Japanese Lager at the Bay Park location, down the street from where Kaylee lived when she first moved to San Diego.
