A little bit about the bride and groom.
The First Time We Met…
Emerson and Kaylee met at a birthday bar crawl for our friend (and now wedding officiant!) Ben. Emerson and Ben were already long running friends from SDSU, whereas Kaylee also met Ben for the first time at his own birthday party! She attended the birthday bar crawl with a roommate having just moved to San Diego three weeks prior.
…And The Second Time We Met
Following the birthday bar crawl, as Kaylee got settled in San Diego, she became surf buddies with Ben. While floating on their boards in Ocean Beach one day, Ben played matchmaker and set Kaylee and Emerson up on a blind date. Kaylee & Emerson went out for Mexican food and margaritas on their first date.
From Then To Now…
Emerson and Kaylee celebrated their four year anniversary in February 2026. Here’s a few highlights from their time together.
March 2022 - Kaylee turned 28 a few months into living in San Diego and her dad came to visit. She introduced Emerson as one of her “friends,” since they were so newly dating. After they left her birthday celebration, her dad looked at Kaylee and said, “I really liked that guy Emerson,” and Kaylee had to come clean that they were only just beginning to date.
June 2022 - Emerson turned 30 and hosted a party at his place. He invited his parents, college friends, and high school friends and Kaylee met them all in one go!
June 2022 - Emerson meeting Kaylee’s friends from her hometown, Sean and his now wife Emilee, when they were in town for a visit!
September 2022 - Emerson and Kaylee attended their first wedding together as a couple, celebrating Emerson’s SDSU friend Crystal and her husband Chase.
September 2022 - Emerson and Kaylee’s first big trip together! Kaylee had to head to Calgary for work and Emerson met her so they could visit Banff National Park together. This remains one of their favorite trips together.
May 2023 - Emerson comes to New York to meet Kaylee’s family and see where she grew up! Kaylee also gets to meet Dorian and Diego for the first time. They packed a two week trip, including: playing tourists in NYC, spending time in Warwick seeing Kaylee’s first high-school job and hanging out with her friends, Cass & Steve, meeting Grandma Moose, being present for Kaylee’s brother and sister-in-law sharing that they were expecting a baby, and attending the annual Lake Taghkanic Memorial Day camping trip with the Denmeads.
March 2023 - Dressed up for Kaylee’s 29th birthday dinner!
April 2023 - Getting showered with beer when SDSU hit the game winning shot at the buzzer in the semi-finals. Go State!
April 2023 - Attending our second wedding together! Yay Jared & Meghna!
September 2023 - Invite us to your wedding, we’re a lot of fun! Congrats Max & Caitlin!
October 2023 - Emerson and Kaylee became roommates, signing a lease together in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, where they still live today!
November 2023 - Thanksgiving in LA!
December 2023 - Christmas in NY! Kaylee and Emerson have become Aunt Kay Kay and Uncle E to baby Graham.
March 2024 - Vegas for Kaylee’s 30th
May 2024 - Another trip to New York City
April 2024 - Visiting the Grand Canyon with Emerson’s parents
June 2024 - Happy 32nd Emerson!
July 2024 - The Rolling Stones at Sofi
July 2024 - Emerson’s first trip to the Jersey Shore!
September 2024 - Euro trip! Madrid to Venice to the Dolomites to Oktoberfest and back to Madrid. Emerson & Kaylee had the best time!
December 2024 - Christmas Eve
March 2025 - Mustache Bash in San Diego
March 2025 - Camping in Anza Borrego State Park
July 2025 - Emerson proposed in Wildwood Crest, NJ, where Kaylee’s family has had a house at the Jersey Shore for as long as she’s been alive. He got down on one knee in front of a bench dedicated to Kaylee’s late mom, Jodi. Kaylee said “Yes!”
August 2025 - The fun kept coming, with West Coast engagement celebrations, the parents meeting each other, and a California road trip up to Redwood National Forest and back.
September & October 2025 - Emerson & Kaylee’s wedding guest list appearances continue, celebrating Kelsey and Bryan in upstate New York and Matt & Ali in San Diego
February 2026 - Six months after Emerson & Kaylee’s engagement, they finally took engagement photos at their home in Cardiff-by-the-Sea and on the their local beach.
